DuraDerm SPORT does not contain antibiotics.

DuraDerm SPORT actively attacks and kills the proteins of bad cells, leaving the healthy cells intact. It immediately forms a transparent film barrier to protect the injury. The polymer lowers the pH of the affected area creating the optimal environment for healing and cell regeneration.

DuraDerm SPORT is a microbicidal liquid wound care that does not contain antibiotics.

It is defined as an agent that kills microscopic organisms which includes bacteria, fungi and viruses.

DuraDerm SPORT has been proven to kill the following in lab studies:

BACTERIAL: Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureous, MRSA (superbug), VRE (superbug), Acinetobacter baumannii (superbug), Bacillus subtilis, Clostridium sporogenes, Streptococcus pyogenes

FUNGAL: Aspergillus niger (superbug), T. rubrum, Candida albicans, D Aspergillus brasiliensis, Candida auris (superbug)

VIRAL: Herpes Simplex 1 (cold sores), Herpes Zoster (shingles virus)

Antibiotics have been linked to tendon injuries, diarrhea, photo-sensitivity and decreased performance. DuraDerm SPORT does not contain any antibiotics.

For elite athletes, the best time apply DuraDerm SPORT is after showering and/or before bed. It kills pathogens on contact and will form a barrier within 30 seconds. Once completely dry, DuraDerm SPORT will not adhere to clothing or sheets.

Healing time will vary depending upon the severity and type of wound.

DuraDerm SPORT is a biodegradable, non-toxic, organic, non-flammable polymer that contains no antibiotics. 

Before applying, remove any moisturizers, lotions, soaps or creams thoroughly and clean and dry the skin.

DuraDerm SPORT starts working immediately on contact with the skin. The liquid takes approximately 30 seconds to dry and form, which then polymerizes into a protective skin barrier.

There are many factors that can contribute to how long it works. Skin type, area of the injury, humidity, activity level, friction and being in the water (swimming, hot tub or shower/bath) are some of the variables that will determine product longevity on the skin. When used with an additional dressing the product can last up to 8 days. DuraDerm SPORT will naturally wear off over a 24-72 hour period.  

It is normal over time for the polymer to begin to slough off or peel. You may begin to see raised edges after swimming, showering or physical activity where there is friction against the skin. You can remove these peeled edges or can also apply new product over top of the previous application to create a layer.

To remove the film, wash the area with soap and water and gently peel off the film starting with the edges.

DuraDerm SPORT will cover an area approximately 5 inches by 5 inches or 10 by 1.5 inches (over sutures)

If you do not put any pressure on the stick while applying, the polymer can accumulate in the cotton fiber. You can remove the liquid from the cotton tip by simply squeezing the tip with your fingers like a sponge.
